Above Skelwith Force

I went to view Skelwith Force after heavy Autumnal rain as I heard it carries the greatest volume of water of any Lakeland waterfall. The river was surging through the woods on either side and the power and sound was magnificent to behold. The composition below the force is a well known lakeland classic however I chose the prospect from above for the sweeping movement and vista downstream. Though on an altogether smaller scale I tried to emulate the brilliant technical mastery of flowing water in Frederick Church's Niagara
