O'Donoghue's, Dublin

Coming in from the wet streets during our first visit to Dublin, the pub was as lively as anticipated. The pencil portraits hint at the significance of this venue, a training ground for live performance of world stature, not least The Dubliners and Christy Moore. In this image the live act is just out of frame to the right and we focus on the company of tourists and locals in the atmospheric interior. Various chracters tried to persuade the young lady in black, at the bar, to dance for us. Eventually with a smile she relented and the music and dance was a spontaneous delight.
